CALLAWAY
CHURCH OF GOD
MARCH 21, 2020
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
—Psalm 27:1
We are closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and will be posting frequent updates here and on our Facebook page.
With the heightened awareness and public concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to assure you that public health and the safety concerns for our church family at Callaway Church of God are our highest priority.
Due to continued recommendations from officials and medical professionals, Callaway Church of God’s leadership has made the decision to suspend public services for 14 days. Following that time period we will assess the situation and give an update on how we will be moving forward after that time. This coming Wednesday we will upload a link where you can join us for a time of prayer and praise, and Pastor Bill will be sharing an encouraging word.
We suggest three things that you could do to help us in this season.

-
Check on your church family. Don’t let a day go by without reaching out to another member of our church by phone or text and see if there is any way that you can help them during this time. Send cards or notes with words of encouragement. If you are a member of Callaway Church of God and have not yet signed-up for our online directory, do so, our church family addresses are listed there. Click on the 'About Us' link above and then click on 'Church Directory.' The directory is password protected so once you sign-up we will verify that you are indeed a member and approve your request for access to the directory.

Be patient with us as we navigate the days ahead. These are uncharted waters. No pastor has ever pastored during a pandemic before. We need your prayers, patience, and support as we prayerfully and carefully consider all that is in front of us.

-
Continue your giving to Callaway Church of God. This season of limited gatherings is so crucial to the financial well-being of our church. Some of our members already give their tithes and offerings online and you can do likewise by clicking on the 'Give' link above. If you prefer, you can also mail your check to P.O. Box 211, Callaway VA 24067. We appreciate this and need it during this time, it will help us maintain our financial obligations.
We are not fearful, God is on the throne. He has given us a spirit, not of fear but of power and love and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Our heart and mind is set on God. Isaiah 26:3,4 says, "You (God) keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock." We must keep our mind on the Lord to realize this peace. Don't let the things that are going on distract you or get your focus off of him. Our hope and our trust is in the Lord. He has always been and will always be our refuge and help in the time of trouble. Let's draw closer to Him than ever before. And let's use wisdom and do what we are being ask to do to help prevent the spread of this virus.
